The Care Through Culinary™ Difference
Nutrition: A Vital Part of Treatment
Food is often an overlooked component of quality care. However, we’ve found that serving high-quality, thoughtfully prepared, fresh, and nutritious food has a direct impact on how clients approach their treatment. Nourishing the mind and body is part of our whole-person approach to care as it helps accelerate each person’s path towards recovery.
Entering residential treatment can be scary when clients are away from home and the people, things, and foods that are familiar. A gesture like someone asking about a client’s favorite meal and then cooking it for them on their first night can make them feel accepted and welcome.
Care Through Culinary™: Helping Our Client Progress In Their Recoveries
The Nutritional and Culinary Teams at Pasadena Villa are dedicated to not just preparing nutritious food, but to extending the care we offer our clients through it. For us, culinary excellence means nourishing the mind and body through well-balanced meals, building supportive communities with others during meals, or enjoying foods that may be new along with the familiar smells and tastes of home.

Overall, this has been one of the best experiences of my life. I went on a lot of good excursions, ate a lot of good food, and met a lot of great people. I got the help I needed for my problems. It’s going to be very sad to leave but glad that I’m leaving here after getting the help I needed. I strongly recommend this place as it’s better than most. – Grateful Former Client, The Villa Orlando

I was at Pasadena Villa Smoky Mountain Lodge for a little over three months. This place SAVED MY LIFE! I don’t know where I would be today if I hadn’t taken a chance and admitted myself into Pasadena. The staff here are beyond wonderful… I would recommend this facility to anyone who’s struggling and needs to make a change in their life. You will get from it what you put in. If you truly want to make a difference in your life and get better, and you attend groups and really put your all into therapy, you will benefit from the program – Grateful Former Client, Pasadena Villa Smoky Mountain Lodge

As a parent, we only want the best for our children. I was blessed to find Pasadena Villa. The staff treated my child with respect and compassion. It was the first time since their diagnosis that they felt they were an active participant in their course of treatment. The lodge is beautiful, and the meals were exceptional, per my child. Pasadena was helpful in accommodating dietary restrictions due to allergies. Overall, the experience was positive. A slight hiccup with the insurance billing, but Kyle was able to resolve my concerns in less than 24 hours. Would recommend this facility to others struggling with mental health issues. – Grateful Family Member of a Former Client, Pasadena Villa Smoky Mountain Lodge

We had a very difficult situation with a young family member. For our family this was a good place. We felt our family member was safe there and could get the help they needed. They are doing much better now. We were very lucky and had a good outcome. Our experience was that every single staff person was nice, friendly, helpful, and always in contact with us. They worked with us to help our family member get better and we were always informed about what was going on. – Grateful Family Member of a Former Client, The Villa Orlando

I’ve worked with Pasadena Villa for many years as a referring professional. They’ve always worked hard for my clients to ensure they’re the right fit for the client's needs, and if not, they always help find the right place for the client. I’ve had the pleasure of touring both Smoky Mountain Lodge and The Stables. It's a beautiful, serene, and clinically astute program. I highly recommend their programs and trust their expertise. Additionally, working with their local outreach professional, Corinne, has been a true pleasure. She's professional, kind, and compassionate. I’ve also followed up with the client's families and they all have only good things to say. As a professional, it’s tough to trust someone else with your client, but I don't worry at all when I hand them off to the staff at Pasadena Villa. For that, I am grateful. – Grateful Clinical Partner, Pasadena Villa Smoky Mountain Lodge

Frequently Asked Questions
Provided below are responses to frequently asked questions about the Pasadena Villa mental health disorder and co-occurring conditions treatment programs. If you have additional questions, please reach out to us at 877.845.5235.
What do you treat at Pasadena Villa?
Pasadena Villa specializes in providing high-quality, individualized psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care for adults. We treat anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), bipolar disorder, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma, psychosis, schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, and co-occurring substance use disorder or addiction.
What payment methods are available?
Pasadena Villa offers a variety of payment methods that vary by location, including in-network, out-of-network, and private pay. We do not participate in Medicaid, Medicare, or Tricare programs.
We can work in cooperation with certain insurance companies on an out-of-network basis to offset treatment costs and utilize benefits that may be available to clients. We can run a verification of benefits to let each client know what their financial obligation would be depending on their specific plan. It’s important to note that coverage may vary by insurance policy or provider.
For additional details, please visit our Admissions page or contact our compassionate Admissions Team who can help walk you through your options for paying for treatment.
How is my family involved in treatment?
Family involvement in treatment is welcomed if appropriate and beneficial, and our treatment team makes every effort to ensure that family members are provided with updates as well as education on their loved one’s mental health diagnoses. We value the opinion and input of family members and provide family therapy sessions (as often as is recommended by the treatment team with input from the resident and family members) through a variety of modalities including phone, in-person, and video conferencing.
What is the average length of stay at Pasadena Villa?
An individual’s stay at Pasadena Villa can’t be predicted as it’s based on how well each client responds to medications and therapy. With that said, we don’t run a 90-day, year-long, or any other predetermined length of stay for an individualized program. The length of stay is based on progress, as defined by the client’s treatment team, consisting of the client, the client’s family, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, nurses, and the other supporting professionals at Pasadena Villa.
For most clients, their stays average from three to four months of intensive residential care. This is typically followed by about six to nine months of supervised living in a step-down setting at one of our several levels of community housing.
