Tyler has extensive experience working with individuals suffering from substance use disorders and behavioral addictions, anxiety and depressive disorders, and mood disorders. His approach to therapy employs a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy, and Gestalt therapy within individual and family settings and an experiential approach to group settings. Tyler has previously worked in psychiatric residential facilities, substance use disorder residential and outpatient facilities, and outpatient mental health facilities where he specialized in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and adults experiencing an array of psychiatric disorders. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University and his Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling and Counselor Education from the University of Florida. Additionally, he is a Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Services Provider designation (LPC-MHSP) in Tennessee, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida, and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).
