Rena has worked with clients of all ages and varying backgrounds, including specialized work in Co-occurring treatment settings. Her clinical focus, training, and experience have been centered on using CBT, DBT, ACT, and Reality Therapy from a ‘systems’ perspective to enable clients to address issues holistically. She is emphatically committed to meeting clients where they are and individualizing treatment plans according to client needs and abilities. With experience in residential, IOP, and individual therapy settings, Rena believes in continued education and training to hone skills as an integrative therapist dedicated to client wellness. She received her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and training from CACREP accredited Carson-Newman University and is working to complete licensure as an LPC-MHSP under supervision. She believes that professional development and engagement encourages growth in the practice setting and currently serves as President of the Smoky Mountain Counseling Association, a chapter of the Tennessee Counseling Association. Work through the platform of this association encourages skill improvement and continued education for professionals in all areas of counseling, and enables professionals to learn and grow within the realm of evidence-based practices and techniques.
