Mackenzie is a Licensed Professional Counselor driven to help individuals find their life worth living. Her inspiration to guide others through their journey is enhanced by over four years of experience in working with individuals and groups in various settings. Mackenzie is a trained Dialectical Behavioral therapist that completed her training by Psychwire in 2019. Mackenzie received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel hill in 2012. Following this, Mackenzie earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University Graduate School. After completing her internship in community mental health, Mackenzie facilitated teen and adult DBT groups, conducting outpatient therapy, and working as a community support therapist with high-needs individuals and those in crisis. Her education and training have helped to inform her practice to best suit the needs of every individual she works alongside. Mackenzie’ believes that therapy was never meant to be a “one size fits all” practice, but rather tailored to one’s needs at this moment. She adapts her approach utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Positive Psychology, Motivational Interviewing, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. Her genuine passion for helping is reflected in her belief that support can be walking alongside you on your journey or sitting with you through the toughest of times.
