Dayana was born in Cap-Haitien, Haiti and raised in Charlotte, NC. She obtained a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Scranton and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Community Health from East Carolina University, where she graduated magna cum laude. Dayana has worked in various capacities in the areas of social services, healthcare administration, and health operations and quality management. She is determined to improve health equity by providing culturally competent care and addressing health disparities that adversely affect specific populations. In her spare time, Dayana volunteers with Matthews Free Medical Clinic and the American Red Cross. She also enjoys hiking, yoga and traveling.
