Prior to Treatment: Just Going Through the Motions

Before Jordan sought depression treatment at Pasadena Villa’s The Villa Orlando, he wasn’t eating, but he still didn’t notice the signs that his depression was worsening. His parents, however, did notice that he wasn’t doing the things he loved to do including exercising, fishing, and paddleboarding. There was also a lot of tension between Jordan and his parents as they didn’t understand he needed psychiatric help, which led to a lot of arguments and yelling. Once Jordan’s parents realized what was going on, they suggested he admit to the Villa Orlando’s treatment program. Although Jordan was hesitant and angry at first, he agreed treatment was necessary as he was seeking direction in his life.

Treatment: Some Bumps Along the Way, but Jordan Found His Footing

After Jordan and his parents decided that he needed to enter a treatment program for depression, they chose The Villa Orlando. Although it was a difficult decision, his family was grateful that Jordan decided to commit to treatment. Jordan’s father drove him to The Villa Orlando, where he initially met with the Admissions Team. Together, they agreed that the outpatient partial hospitalization program (PHP) was the best option for Jordan based on his diagnosis and circumstances.

However, they soon realized that residential treatment was where Jordan needed to be. After a short time in the PHP, Jordan began to isolate himself. He wasn’t showering, he was in constant physical pain, and he was hallucinating. The Villa Orlando Treatment Team worked with Jordan and decided that the next best course of action was to admit him to the residential treatment program. Residential treatment provided the structure, support, and social integration he needed to get back on track. Throughout treatment, Jordan’s team helped him prepare for life after treatment including ensuring he continues to take his medications, attends his appointments, and can return to his social circle without falling back into bad habits. After a successful stay in the residential treatment program, Jordan stepped down into the Villa Orlando’s partial hospitalization program (PHP) to complete his treatment.

The Villa Orlando: Providing A Lasting Impact

According to Jordan, “I know that Pasadena Villa is an outstanding facility, and the people there understood what I needed, which changed my life.” Although he’s still on a journey, Jordan is grateful for his experience at The Villa Orlando including the people he encountered and the program overall. He credits The Villa Orlando and his treatment team with saving his life, saying, “I couldn’t be happier to have been a part of this program as it helped me find a lot of the answers I was looking for, including many solutions to my problems.”
