The Truth about the Costs of Quality Residential Mental Health Treatment

Posted

What is the average cost for Residential Mental Health Treatment?

When you or a loved one needs residential mental health treatment it is important to educate yourself on the costs. Trying to find out a price range for the average residential treatment center can be challenging, and it is important to note that residential treatment centers can differ in price as well as services offered. Prices for residential treatment range from $10,000-$60,000 per month (or about $320-1,930 per day) for full service programs. It is important to note that the cost of a program doesn’t exactly correlate with the quality of that program’s services. For example, many more expensive programs offer spa-like services and amenities which do not necessarily produce better outcomes.  On the other hand, sober living houses, which range in price from $3,000-10,000 per month do not offer specific treatment modalities thus, clients are only paying for living expenses such as food and housing, and for the healing milieu.

How much is residential treatment at Pasadena Villa compared to this price range and what is included?

The Pasadena Villa Network of Services programs offer a comprehensive continuum of residential treatment, day treatment, transitional living and life skills/social mentoring services. The clinical needs of our residents and the length of stay will affect total treatment costs therefore; actual resident rates may vary depending on the level of care and other individual factors. To maintain the lowest rates for treatment with the highest quality of care, all of Pasadena Villa’s programs are primarily private payment which means that Medicare, Medicaid and SSI will not cover our services. However, we can work with many insurance companies to assist our residents with some reimbursement.

Our residential treatment program rates include: room and board, diagnostic assessment and treatment planning, individual, group and family psychotherapies, specialty clinical groups, psycho-educational groups, life skills training, independent living skills training, social mentoring, cognitive-behavioral therapy, medication management, academic assistance, tutoring, IEP coordination, college preparation, meetings with the interdisciplinary team, case management, discharge planning, addictions assessment, groups, relapse prevention planning, recreational therapy, art therapy, animal assisted therapy (in TN) and expressive arts therapies.  Residential treatment rates start at only $800 per day.  These rates also include our unique Social Integration activities incorporated daily into each treatment plan such as (but not limited to): rock climbing, golf, theme park visits, museum tours, swimming, canoeing, hiking, zip lining, dining out at restaurants, enjoying the theatre, zoo and local attractions.  In fact, recreational, social and life skills activities within the community with our licensed professional staff form the core treatment interventions in our programs. Through an effective therapeutic alliance, ongoing feedback, support and direction are provided to allow residents to meet treatment goals and regain control of their lives and become prepared for life beyond treatment.

The Villa Orlando and Pasadena Villa’s Smoky Mountain Lodge are adult intensive psychiatric residential treatment centers for clients with serious mental illnesses. We also provide other individualized therapy programs, step-down residential programs, and less intensive mental health services, such as Community Residential Homes, Supportive Housing, Day Treatment Programs and Life Skills training. Pasadena Villa’s Outpatient Center in Raleigh, North Carolina offers partial hospitalization (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (PHP). If you or someone you know may need mental health services, please complete our contact form or call us at 877-845-5235 for more information.
