Transitional Living

Transitional Living & Learning Center (TLLC) is a transitional living and life skills development program designed to assist young men and women in reaching their fullest potential. We offer a safe place where clients learn and practice new skills, and apply them in the real world.

We strive to provide the most meaningful, real life learning opportunities possible. Our goal is to build skills and patterns of successful, healthy living that are transferable to any setting, anywhere.

Clients come to TLLC from a variety of settings, including hospitals, wilderness treatment programs, residential treatment centers, addiction treatment programs, as well as colleges and universities. While at TLLC, young adults will either enroll in a local college or university, or enter the work force. No matter which path a client chooses, the TLLC team will be there to teach, guide, mentor and support every step of the way.

The TLLC Transitional Program includes:

  • Individual Life Action Plans
  • Daily assistance with problem solving, motivation and decision making
  • Recreational activities: YMCA strength and conditioning, rock climbing, racquetball, biking, hiking, canoeing, golf, tennis and more
  • Social and cultural activities: Orlando Science Center, Orlando Museum of Art, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, festivals, concerts, plays, the ballet, and more
  • Educational assistance with study skills, planning and test taking
  • Vocational assistance and career development
  • Daily living skills: cooking, cleaning, organizing, personal hygiene, etc.
  • Training in social skills, coping skills and communication skills
  • Individual and group sessions as well as regular and consistent family updates

Transitional Living is for clients who:

  • Do not require 24-hour supervised living and are capable of living independently within the community
  • Are able to manage their own personal medications
  • Need assistance with learning the skills necessary for productive and successful independent living
  • May be referred directly without having gone through Pasadena Villa
