Ashley Buchanan, MS – Psychotherapist, Art Therapist

Ashley received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Graphic Design and Illustration from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN and her MS in Art Therapy and Counseling from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA.  Her experience combines art therapy and counseling with a number of age groups including children and their families experiencing domestic/community violence; adolescents, children and their families in an acute mental health behavioral center; and working with adults diagnosed with intellectual delays or disabilities at a day treatment center.  She has also been a therapeutic art teacher and camp counselor for individuals of all ages experiencing intellectual or developmental delays.

Ashley is a member of the AATA (American Art Therapy Association) and is working towards her licensure as a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
